Magalhães Network
The Magalhães Network was formed in 2005 in order to increase the academic exchange and collaboration between Europe and Latin American and the Caribbean. Member universities are faculties and schools of technology, engineering and architecture.
Objectives
The Magalhães Network offers added value to member universities, their students and staff:- Effective tools for student exchange
- Systematic exchange of best practices for internationalization
- A platform to build links that can be used to develop joint projects between member universities
SMILE: Student mobility between Latin America and Europe
SMILE gives students the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters without paying additional fees to the host university on the other continent. Every year more than 1000 students participate in exchanges between Magalhães partners. Equal numbers participate from each continent.
